Artist: Jean Laurent (French, 1898 - 1988)

Dimensions: 46 3/4" W x 35" T (36" W x 24" T without frame)
Condition: Excellent. No tears, holes, or other damage to the canvas. Frame is original and in great condition with minor signs of age/use. Clear varnish/finish has yellowed slightly with age. Please see photos.
About the Artist: Jean Laurent was a skilled artist of the 20th century who followed the style of 19th-century Dutch masters like Hermanus Koekkoek (1815-1882) and Abraham Hulk Senior (1813-1897). His use of color is lively and dynamic, complemented by his refined and confident draughtsmanship. Most of his paintings were of maritime scenes and large ships.
